I then place a second jackstand right under the rear shock absorber, as lifting the car on the front jacking point has also lifted the rear: I lower the car on to the stands and move to the other side and do like wise. I then place a jack stand in the front, not on the body floor but on the chassis member under the engine. I lift the car using the front jacking point to the maximum extent possible.
